Guitar Tricks Examined – Is It Worth The Money?

Today I’m going to review Guitar Tricks, a great site for teaching yourself to play the guitar. Guitar Tricks came to life in 1998 and is one of the oldest guitar websites on the internet. As a customer you will get access to over 3000 video guitar lessons taught by 45 different teachers. These lessons cover almost every guitar method and technique known to man.

As you might expect, this makes Guitar Tricks suitable for guitar players of any level. You will also find that new videos are being recorded all the time. The content in each lesson is quite good, and the instructors do a very good job showing you how to play. The little graphic they add to the videos is a cool feature which helps you time when to play each note. Beginners will really appreciate this.

One thing I like about Guitar Tricks is that you don’t need to be online to learn. If you want to do some offline practicing, you can download the lessons onto your computer. You also get to use the Guitar Tricks branded video player which you can use to watch the lessons. The nice thing about using this player is that it lets you replay specific portions of a lesson. So if you misheard something the instructor has to say, or just want to practice something a few times more, you can put this feature to good use.

More advanced players want to play songs, and Guitar Tricks has plenty of those as well. You can search for your favorite guitar players like Syd Barrett, Steve Val and Pete Townshend and find lessons which demonstrate the methods that made them special. To become a better guitarist yourself, it’s important to study the greats. This is definitely a cool feature of the site.

The Guitar Tricks community is also very helpful place to learn. You’ll have access to the forums, which has thousands of active members. It’s an interesting place to hang out, or get answers to some questions on your mind. You might even see some of your teachers online on occasion.

If you’re still on the fence about joining Guitar Tricks, you can try the basic access membership and get 24 free lessons. It’s a good way to test if the lessons on the site match your learning style. There’s no long term commitment to become a member, and you only pay $12.95 per month. If you want an easy way to to learn to play the guitar, but cant afford the cost of private lessons, then Guitar Tricks is an excellent option. It’s an affordable and great way to learn the guitar.
