Ik ben een grote fan Genesis ooit sinds de release van hun album 1980, Duke. Voordat dat ik echt niet begreep elk van hun werk. Te artistiek, te intellectueel. Het was op Duke, waar Phil Collins' aanwezigheid werd beter zichtbaar worden. Ik denk Invisible Touch was de groep onbetwist meesterwerk. Het is een epische meditatie op ontastbaarheid. Tegelijkertijd heeft zij verdiept en verrijkt de zin van de voorgaande drie albums. Luister naar de briljante ensemblespel van Banks, Collins en Rutherford.

ja ik ben het eens uit eerdere albums uit'70 en'77 (bij de verkoop van engeland door het pond bijvoorbeeld) zijn veel ingewikkelder dan post 1979 albums als abacab n onzichtbare touch.

Uiteraard speelt u geen muziekinstrument, noch begrijp je muziektheorie en compositie. Post 1979 Genesis is banaal en simplistisch. Bezwaar maken voor de massa's zonder een muzikaal gehoor of opleiding. Pablum voor muzikale baby's. 1970-1977 Genesis is veel meer avontuurlijke muziek, met meer complexe koorde progressies, de toon kleur, en tekst. Post 1979 Genesis is niet eens dat die naam waardig Genesis. Doe het niet eens te proberen en te verdedigen Duke, stemden in 1980 op grote schaal als het slechtste album van het jaar.
